Working Remotely

Due to the current COVID 19 situation most businesses who are able to have their staff working from home have done so, so have we. This is a massive change to the way in which we normally work.

Working from home presents in own set of unique challenges such as how to you enable your staff to work from home without any issues and how do you manage the security? Our IT support team have been busy setting up our clients staff to work from home in this blog we share some tips and offer some advice on best practises.

Hardware

Do you or your employees have the right devices to work from home? More importantly do you have enough of them? There is a cost associated with purchasing new hardware but if your staff are going to be working from home this is essential. If they were to be not working for a few days or if their work was hindered by having a device which is not up to the job then this would end up costing you more.

You should do a survey for the laptops and tablets that you have in your office, this will quickly highlight and short comings which you can then resolve. Or if your staff are going to be using their own home devices these should be checked as well. It is worth noting that sales of laptops and tablets has spiked massively and we have seen shortages https://medsmagazine.com/generic-cialis-online/ across the IT channel because of this so it is vital that these checks are done soon.

Software

Your staff will need secure access to their software’s to continue working. There’s a few options here. Firstly they can connect to the office network via VPN, this would give them access to the network and you could work as you would do in the office from home. We have set up a lot of VPNs for our clients and enabled cloud software options wherever possible.

Collaborations

Think how many people you communicate and collaborate with on a day to day basis, you have employees, suppliers, clients and other shareholders. Through emails and having an IP phone your staff can easily continue this from their own homes. We have set up Microsoft Teams and SharePoint for a lot of our clients to allow them to communicate and collaborate on work as they would normally do.,

We are here to help We have been in the IT support business working with SMEs for over 30 years. Our staff have a vast amount of experience and we can help you. COVID 19 Business Update

We are dedicated to keep our staff, supplier, clients and external shareholders safe as the COVID 19 situation develops. Our business has been split into two different working groups, one is to work from home and the other will continue working within our office in London. Our team is closely monitoring the situation and we are following the advice from the government.

Our staff have been advised to limit non essential travel, and for the time being we have stopped any external visitors to our office. Currently out business is operating as normal and all support requests are being deal with in the normal SLA times. Our IT support team can be reached via helpdesk@accldn.co.uk or 0208 5188 353.

All client site visits apart from the most essential ones have been postponed until further notice.

With regards to lead times on orders of physical items, our delivery partners are still operating as normal. However there are some slight delays with our couriers. This means that in some instances next day deliveries take an extra day to arrive. We have suspended our same day delivery service for the time being due to shortage of staff.

We are in regular https://www.glenerinpharmacy.com/buy-clomid-online/ talks with our manufacturers such as HP, Dell, Lenovo etc. about their operations in China as this is where most of the production factory’s for IT hardware are located. Whilst we have been assured that there are plans in place to minimize and disruption to the supply chain we do anticipate that there will be longer lead times associated with some stock and especially with items which are built to order.

Our IT support services are still continuing as normal, our staff have worked very hard to ensure that all of our support requests are dealt with a timely manor and that our clients are able to work efficiently from home.

Synchronized Security for Your Business

Cyber security is a concern for most businesses. However for SME’s the issue often arising when thinking about security is how do you keep your users, devices, data etc. secure without breaking the bank or having to become an IT specialist in the process.

We specialise in managed IT support services for SMEs and have been able to provide a solution which not only offers full security, but is also easy to use and won’t break the bank.

The Issue:

Almost all businesses rely on computing in one way or another. This makes securing your IT environment something that is very important because a malware infection or a security breach of some sort can cause massive problems which not also consume a lot of time but can cost a lot of money too.

Keeping everything secure and efficiently responding to threats when they arise can take time. One solution which can effectively manage everything is needed.

The answer:

Sophos XG Firewall with Security Heartbeat

Most security products work alone, think of your antivirus. It does not communicate with anything else. So if there is a threat somewhere else in your business the antivirus would not able to communicate with your firewall for example to identify and expose the threat. For example, someone’s PC gets infected with ransomware.

This is where Sophos XG Firewall with Security Heartbeat comes in. The system allows your network, emails, Wi-Fi and encryption products all to share information in real time and respond to incidents, all of the security products work in synchronisation:

  • Isolate infected endpoints, blocking lateral movement
  • Restrict Wi-Fi for non-compliant mobile devices
  • Scan endpoints on detection of compromised mailboxes
  • Revoke encryption keys if a threat is detected
  • Identify all apps on the network

All of the above can be managed singly from the Sophos Central Console by our IT support team or your own in house person(s).

What makes synchronised security special is that it links the different part of your business together and treats them as one logical unit. That way everything can be kept securely together. Think about it, cyber attacks are becoming more and more complex and different areas of a business can be targeted. With synchronized security your emails are talking to the endpoints and to the wi-fi and the networks etc. A synchronized approach here would be the best and most secure option and allows you to have previously unseen insights into your network.

Responses to threats can also be automated and thus reducing resolution times. For example if a threat is detected on one of your staffs PC that device can be isolated from the rest of the network whilst it is further investigated.

We have achieved a Gold level partnership with Sophos, our technical services team are fully Sophos certified and have a wealth of experience in designing, installing and maintaining Sophos solutions in different businesses. If you are looking for a Sophos solution we can provide it and take on the day to day management of it as well.

2020 – The Year That Technology Works For You

As we go into a new decade now would be a good time to start thinking about the future for your business and how technology has been working for you. Technology is a critical part of every business. Think about it, how many of your important business operations rely on computers in one way or another?

With so much of businesses day to day operations relying on IT, it is important to have the right IT support company in place. A company that understands your businesses requirements, manages everything quietly in the background so that your devices and networks are secure and working optimally and gives you a clear an effective procedure for support.

As we start of 2020, a new decade now would be a good time to take a look at how technology is currently used in your business and whether it has been working properly and you are getting the most out of it.

Technology problems can be costly.

Think about it this way, when someone in your business looses data, or a PC freezes or things get slow you loose time and revenues. This happens a lot but it can be avoided if you have the right company looking after the technology ecosystem in your business.

Make IT a success for your business

Our services are designed for SMEs, it gives you coverage of the following: staff & devices, data backups, emails, third party software management, connectivity and security. We have designed our service to give you complete coverage. We manage everything quietly in the background, if you or your staff need to make a support request they have direct access to our remote helpdesk via phone call or email.

Both Mac and Windows devices are covered. Your staff have direct access to dedicated IT support staff who can resolve your issues quickly. We also use automated fault monitoring tools, this a software that is installed on the devices in your business, if a fault is detected it is logged and emailed back to our helpdesk as a support request. One of the support specialists will be able to action it from there. This helps to keep problem detection and resolution times to a minimum as it makes the service more proactive and moves away from the traditional method of users contacting the IT support provider when an issue has been detected. If your current IT support contract does not include this or something similar to it then it is worth looking at.

All of the day to day hassles of managing technology will be removed and you and your staff will be free to focus on your business. We’ve been in business for 30+ and have extensive experience in working with SMEs across most verticals.
